SGA Now Offers AP Art

SGA Now Offers AP Art

ArtFor the first time ever, SGA’s art department now offers AP Studio Art. For those who are passionate about expressing their ideas in a creative way, this is the class to take. Of course, as with all AP classes, students must be dedicated and be willing to put in a lot of time and hard work.

AP Studio Art is not like other AP classes. Instead of a big exam in May, students will have to create a total of twenty-four outstanding pieces of artwork throughout the year to send to the College Board. There are three categories that will be evaluated: Concentration, Breadth, and Quality. (Ask Mr. B for more details.)

Now, it may seem rather daunting, but students that are willing to put in the time and effort, will be helped greatly with their creative processes. More than that, they will have a small circle of other artists to work with, so they will never feel like they’re the only one being drowned in work.

The Art Department welcomes you to visit. Also, keep watching for more information on the San Gabriel Academy Art Show where you will be able to view the art of many students in many media.
